HOW TO SUBMIT FOR VOL. 13 OF OXMO

Step 1: Identify Topic Area

The Oxford Monitor of Forced Migration (OxMo) is particularly interested in submissions on the topics of domestic, regional, or international law; phenomena such as internal displacement, irregular migration, complementary pathways, and externalization; policy issues, particularly regarding the intersection of forced migration with education, youth advocacy, exploitative labor, illicit economies, and gendered conflict; regional studies focusing on Africa and Latin America; and critical studies such as engaged scholarship and participatory methodologies. If you are writing on one or more of these, please include these key words in your submission. We also welcome submissions from other subject areas. If you're unsure which topic best fits your work, feel free to reach out to us at oxmofm@gmail.com.

Step 2: Review Our Style Guidelines

Please familiarise yourself with our Style Guidelines, which cover citation formats, font preferences, and other important formatting details. Ensuring your submission aligns with these guidelines is greatly appreciated.

Step 3: Finalising Your Submission

When your paper is ready for send off, please please follow these steps:

  1. Preparing the document:

    • Submit your text in Word format.

    • Include an abstract (approximately 200 words).

    • Ensure that your specified topics, if any, are clear below the abstract, similar to a key words section.

    • Ensure your bibliography follows our Style Guidelines as much as possible for your initial submission.

  2. Additional materials:

    • Provide a brief bio (approximately 100 words) in a separate document.

    • Attach a signed copy of our publishing agreement.

    • If you like, you can include a photo to feature alongside your piece on our website. This can depict a situation or scene that goes well with the content of your piece. If this is not an image taken by you, please provide the appropriate source credit.

  3. Submit your paper via email to oxmofm@gmail.com by 20 March 2026. Please use the heading "Volume 13 Submission."

We look forward to receiving your submission and thank you for contributing to OxMo!

What happens after submission?

  1. Review process:

    • All submissions undergo an initial review process. Please allow some time for us to notify you about the status of your piece. Each article is reviewed by at least one editor, with recommendations made to our co-editors-in-chief, who make the final publication decisions.

  2. Feedback:

    • Accepted articles will receive detailed feedback from an assigned editor to refine the work before publication. Due to the volume of submissions, we can only provide feedback on accepted pieces.

  3. Publication:

    • There is no limit to the number of articles that can be published in each section. Each submission is judged on its own merit.

    • The current issue is expected to be published in fall 2026.
